Characters: Open!
Location and date: The Black Rose, the place to see and be seen in Sekyong City!
Rating: PG (for now?)
Warning: None yet
Summary: Now that we actually have a bunch of members, let's get this show on the road! Party at Club The Black Rose, everybody's welcome! (Except for those in jail, but I don't believe anyone currently a member is, so all's good.)

It was the kind of party nobody wanted to miss. Not because it was the best party they'd ever gone to (though hey, it might end up being just that), but because not being seen there could mean a serious dent in your rep. It was also one of the few times you'd find drug lords having a drink with the DA, or police officers playing cards with prostitutes. Nobody knew why, it was just what a party at The Black Rose was like. Of course, once you stepped outside, all bets were off.

The doors opened, the beat was heard in the entire neighbourhood - but it was okay, since everyone who mattered was inside anyway.

Welcome to The Black Rose.

Tatsuya eyed the almost gothic decorations with something akin to fascination. He wondered - as he had since it was announced - what sort of party this would be. Everyone would know exactly what sort of people they were dealing with, but it was like a friendly match in the middle of a serious championship. A little slice of peace contained to one area, all fighting stopped. Seeing people in the flesh whom he'd only seen previously on the screen of his work computer. Shaking hands with those he'd watched fidgeting or leering at the witness stand.

Not that he exactly planned to go up and discuss the weather with yakuza and whorehouse mothers. He really would have preferred to be enjoying the fresh air with his dogs, or getting some work done. Even considering which voodoo doll to buy and name "Nishikido" would be better than this.
Good thing Ryo didn't believe in voodoo. (Or if he did, he wasn't about to admit it.)

He didn't really want to be here, parties weren't his thing and he didn't feel comfortable in large crowds at all, but his secretary had made it very clear that this was an opportunity not to be missed. He hadn't been a DA for very long yet and apparently it was important to show his face. It wasn't like he didn't understand that, by now he knew how the system worked, but that didn't mean he had to be happy about it.

He also wasn't happy when the first person he saw was one of the people he'd hoped to be able to avoid tonight. Looking the other way, he passed Ueda without as much as a nod.

Now where was that damn secretary of his, anyway.
A soft voice sounded right behind Ryo so no one else could hear. "Lazy ass. Can't even mingle without me hm?" Golf stood back, clad in a snazzy black suit. He took his glasses off and looked his boss over.

"Eh. Passable. We need to work on your wardrobe, Boss."

JaeWook was not much of a partier. He was very soft-spoken and shy, but by now he understood that these events were vital in business and he figured that boosting his business was never a bad idea. After all it was rather hard for artists to gain work. It wasn't because he wasn't skilled in his field, actually he was quite good. It was more that he didn't have good social skills.

Still, as of now he wasn't sure if coming helped in any way seeing as he was still being shy, quiet, and in a secluded corner. He had been gazing round the room for awhile now. That man that just walked in, JaeWook had heard his voice before it had tasted like chocolate cakes.

JaeWook chewed softly on his lower lip and returned to the small sketchpad laid out before him. It was already half-filled with doodles. He drew clean silky lines across the off-white sheet his mind blocking out the noisy music.
Straightening his black coat and running a hand through his hair beneath the hat he was wearing, Shota pushed the doors of The Black Rose open. He looked around, and it looked as though the party was just getting started.

Seating himself down on one of the tables in the dark corner by the window, Shota took off his hat and placed it neatly on thee side of the table. He tapped his hands impatiently, looking around for familiar faces he knew. He spotted Nishikido Ryo, and decided to stray away from him as much as he could before going up to talk to him. Business came first today.

Reaching into his coat pocket, he felt the packet of Opium inside, wondering if there was anyone around that would be interested in it, or rather, the person who ordered it. The sooner he got rid it off him, the better, and he wasn’t going to be the one responsible if that person ended up becoming trash. It wasn’t his fault that they wanted to buy it, and it certainly wasn’t going to be his fault that he was selling it.

JaeWook looked up from his drawings now and then. He noticed a nicely dressed man walk in. He positioned his elbow near the edge of the table leaning his chin against the heel of his hand. Although JaeWook was terrible with socializing he enjoyed observing people. He wondered thoughtfully what the nicely dressed man's voice would taste like. If his face sounded like soft rain would his voice taste like coffee or tea?
He tapped the end of his pen pensively against his chin still watching the man contentedly.
Feeling as though he was being looked at, Shota glanced around, wandering where the gaze was coming from. His eyes landed upon a person who was sitting on the opposite side. He had a sketch book and a pen in his hands, and Shota guessed that he was an artist.

Fighting the urge to raise and eyebrow to question the man's stare, Shota decided to give a curt nod as a greeting to him.

A pink tongue swiped across dried lips. A hand wrestled with unruly light brown locks. A foot tapped almost nervously to the beat.

Yamamoto Yusuke hated these parties. Every time he even stepped foot into the Black Rose, the fear of getting arrested always overwhelmed him. A party like this one always seemed to have a couple cops mixed in with the other low lives like him. It was an interesting scene but dangerous nonetheless.

The only reason Yusuke still attended these things was because the very upstanding citizens getting wasted there at that moment - loved to pay highly for a night with him. And where there was money and men - Yusuke would always be. He tried to blend in, leaning back against one of the walls opposite the front door. Whenever he tried to disappear, Yusuke knew somehow someone would spot him. He liked that.
Shota didn't know how long he'd been waiting for his customer to arrive, finishing up his second drink for the night, it seemed that someone has obstructed his view. He looked up at the person who was standing directly in front of his table and for some reason, it seemed as though he had seen him from somewhere before. Maybe perhaps he was the one who ordered the Opium? He didn't know, because he didn't get to see the face of the person who ordered it anyway.

But hey, it's always good to take chances, and maybe he could even give away the drug to this man so he can go enjoy himself as much as he wanted to.

"Excuse me," Shota began, clearing his throat to catch the person's attention. "You're blocking my view."
Yusuke did nothing to hide his feelings, his face screwing up in disgust. Who the hell did this guy think he was anyways? If he didn't come off as such a prick he might've been hot. But with an attitude like that, Yusuke could give a rat's ass.

"Gladly." said Yusuke coldly, moving away from the man's view. He didn't move far though, he was way too afraid to get lost in that crowd of officials and such. Standing on the wall was definitely better.

Erika slipped inconspicuously into The Black Rose, staying closer to the wall until she got comfortable with the atmosphere. If she could get comfortable with this atmosphere, that was. There were big name people here, ones she'd seen pictures of in the newspapers. Important people in the business of Criminal Justice. And here she was, a prison nurse. It just didn't seem to equate.

But one of her higher ups had suggested she come, and Erika wasn't busy anyways, she rarely was. She wasn't the biggest on parties like this, but that wasn't an excuse. When she really thought about it, she needed social interaction just as much as the prisoners did, but she could get it and they couldn't. Lucky Erika?

She drifted toward the bar, but wasn't really planning on having anything alcoholic just now, if at all. Ended up just sitting down at one of the tables to watch the people. Inside she mostly wanted someone to talk to but the most familiar faces to her were of guards and prisoners, people she was stuck with twenty-four seven just about. Waiting for a conversation was like waiting for an iceberg to melt. It'd happen, but not fast enough for the Titanic stay afloat.
Looking around, Maria felt kind of lonely. She'd have to get used to doing things without her partner, but his transfer was still pretty fresh so right now it felt strange. She could have asked one of the rookies she'd been babysitting lately to accompany her but somehow that seemed like a faith worse than going alone. They were friendly enough, but... no. If she wanted to hear pervy comments all night she'd have just gone in to work.

So here she was, passing people she'd never seen before and some who obviously recognized her from less happy occasions, wondering why she'd decided to attend this thing again. Seeing a lone figure at the bar, she made her way over and slipped onto a nearby stool. "Overwhelming, hm?"

Tonight seemed like a night to socialise.
The fact that anyone showed up to talk with her was surprising. Erika was almost sure she'd caught a glimpse of a few of the guards over towards the dance floor. Couldn't be sure. But in her focus on that she didn't notice the woman who'd approached until she was speaking. Erika looked over at her with a confused look...wait, that was a familiar face too...another newspaper article somewhere in her mind?...

"Ah...un." She nodded, feeling suddenly on the spot and awkward. "I'm not at these sort of events often...takes getting used to, ne?" After all, she was just a lowly prison nurse. Oh, where had she seen this woman's face before? This party was mostly criminal justice related people...maybe she was a lawyer? Or something? Erika was so bad at figuring out that sort of thing.

If ever there was a party Jin didn't want to miss, it was this one. Of course, he didn't miss a lot of parties no matter what, but this was the one occasion he has actually been kind of nervous about. Dressed to impress, Jin slipped between the small groups of people, weaving his way to the middle, to where he knew the dance floor would be. Hopefully he'd meet someone he knew on the way there, friend or foe, on a night like this it didn't matter. Though really, even some of the guys who'd been on the other side of the barred doors had become... well, if not friends than definitely people he could have a good time with. (Amazing what treating prisoners like human beings did to the way they'd talk to you in there.)

Anyway, even if he didn't see any familiar faces, it wasn't that important. Jin was on a mission and the mission was to dance.
A little bit tipsy on the drink Shota had given him, Yusuke slinked out of his chair. The dancefloor was his destination and it didn't take long for the buzzed whore to stumble across it. It was in the center of the room obviously. Almost instantly, Yusuke's warm brown eyes caught onto someone. A boy who seemed to be around his age, attractive, sharply dressed and seemingly searching for someone.

With a smirk, he approached the man, "Looking for me?"
Randomly being spoken to on the dancefloor wasn't exactly new to Jin, but he still couldn't help but blink at the pretty face smirking at me. "I don't know," he answered smoothly, "are you worth looking for?" Without waiting for an answer, he turned around and focused on the music, dancing like nobody had just been speaking to him. If the guy wanted his attention that much, he'd have to work for it.

Jaejoong stared at himself in the mirror the hung on the wall of the bathroom (decor matching the rest of this place). He gently ran his fingers over his cheekbones. It was moments like this when the young man was sure he'd gotten his brains addled. Who the hell was this handsome face looking back in the mirror?

He fingered his silky hair nervously. Sabre's words kept on running through his head. This party was going to be hit hard and Kim was the one doing it. Jaejoong shuddered, remember the consequences of failure. But then he looked back in the mirror and let a mask of confidence slip over the fear. These people were nothing compared to that monster. He'd get what he could and it didn't look like it would be a problem.

The outfit he was wearing was a tasteful combination of black and white, with a splash of red for contrast. The clothes was silky but thick, you couldn't tell that Jaejoong was thinner then a stick by looking at him. The collar of the dark shirt was high. This had been because Jae's neck was still covered with bruises...

But it was time to get this show on the road. Jaejoong was supposed to be dazzling so no one would really remember anything else. He hated doing this...but what choice did he have? His face smoothed into a nervous but politely cute smile as he slipped back out of the bathroom and into the loud, crowded room. There were so many people pressed together, accidentally walking into each other...This wasn't going to be a hard job. They were all so careless.
After chatting for a time near the bar with a few people here and there, Erika sort of felt the need to get away from all the people for a moment. She was so used to being more alone with her work that crowds as a general thing made her less than comfortable after too long. She sidestepped to avoid a group of probably lawyers, since Erika heard mention of 'my case' and 'that idiot judge'. But, in the process of moving away from them, basically headed toward where a waiter had told her the bathroom was she ended up walking right into someone.

"Ahh, sorry." Erika nodded and glimpsed at the person. A well dressed young man. She was about to slip past without another word when someone pushed past her for whatever reason and Erika was squished up against a table, while said passing individual tread on her toes. Erika winced. Oh great, now she'd be in pain all evening...
Jaejoong's mask was slipping quickly. Too many men...too many freaky looking men! He weaved through the crowd, looking for easy targets.

He was just about to go back into hiding when a girl brushed past him and then they both nearly got knocked over by a rude drunk. Normally too shy to say more then a few words, Jaejoong flattened himself back and then found the women, his dark eyes wide with concern "A-are you okay?" He stuttered in his quiet voice.

Yet another party to appease the masses. Tomohisa slipped in silently and just as silently, headed for the bar. Ordering a beer, he sipped at it while leaning against the bar. Watching the inhabitants of the party, he shook his head. So much corruption in one room. It was a wonder the city didn't explode from it.

He caught sight of Golf, who was introducing Horikita to their new district attorney. Frowning when he saw her, he put her out of his mind for the moment. There would have to be a decision made about her soon.
As Tomohisa was pondering and nursing his drink, Maki had taken her leave of the DA and his secretary in favor of heading to the bar. She was completely unaware of the thoughts going through the ADAs head as she took a seat. In fact, she seemed totally unaware of his presence.

"I'll have a martini please." She ordered her drink, and considered asking the bartender to make it extra strong. But that didn't seem quite appropriate; besides, the night was young and there were so many other types of drinks to be had.

As she stirred the olive in her drink, Maki wondered when this had gotten to be a habit for her. Win a case, drown the guilt in booze. Oh well...seemed to be working so far.
"I hope you don't intend to drown in it this time around. It would be so unbecoming of a public defender." Tomohisa didn't even look in her direction as he spoke. How many times had he seen her drown her concerns and worries in alcohol? It was really quite sad and depressing to see.

Maybe he should have her killed quickly. It would be more of a mercy killing anyway.

Hundreds of men in the room and Yusuke was getting none. So far he had ran into someone who refused to ever pay for sex, one who got away too quickly for him to properly propose sex and even one who was already being dragged in by a fellow whore. Tonight was such a slow night. Sighing, Yusuke leaned up against one of the far walls to watch the scene.

Maybe he should just leave. But flashes of his family at home forced him to stay. He needed the money and he was going to get it the only way he knew how to.
Subaru knew he shouldn't be here. He didn't go out much, but whenever he did, bad things happened. Like last time with that girl... he hadn't meant to freak her out like that, he just happened to think maid uniforms were really sexy. And he'd definitely not meant to make her pass out drunk...

Anyway.

The first person he saw looked like the night wasn't going the way he wanted to, and Subaru stopped to stare at him for a moment. He was kind of pretty, but at a party like this, you could be staring at the world's biggest criminal, so he looked away again quickly and stepped aside.
A half-smile played on Yusuke's lips when he spotted someone checking him out. Now this guy wasn't particularly pretty, but he wasn't ugly either. He had more a rugged, manly charm than most of the guys Yusuke had been with - which made him a little intrigued.

Turning his knowing smirk into an innocent smile, Yusuke waved across the room to the man.
